I replied to another of your comments, but definitely The Final Strife!! Far more interesting characters and world building (and plot twists!!). Not so much a romantasy but still has romance subplots.

Oooh I loved the obeah! Animal companions always win me over😆 Totally fair that this series isn’t for everyone. Her other series starting with The Final Strife is amazing! Less romance, but even more incredible world building and story telling. Feels more polished as well. Definitely recommend!

Oh right! I also read this last year and had to go flip through the pages to remember what the dialogue looked like😆 It would be interesting to know why she made that stylistic choice

I think the author is really strong at world building! The mysteries of the world pulled me in, and I thought it was a fresh take on the fae genre. I also just don’t like too much romance in my books, but I felt there was a good balance between story + romance.
