I do wish I could afford to go to cons these days. But I haven’t gotten a raise since 2018 and have trouble working full time anyway.

I felt really bad for the couple who did show but I just couldn’t run the adventure with 2 PCs out of 7.

To be perfectly honest, in campaigns I don’t play if everyone can’t be there, but you can’t do that with one shots or games at cons. (Though the last Gen Con I went to was the only time I had that happen at a con. Because people paid I think.)
