I'm absolutely spoiled at the moment with Yōtei, Outer Worlds 2 and Borderlands 4 dropping so close to each other. I'm looking forward to playing all of them, but it might take me the next year.

I finally finished AC: Odyssey and I now have a copy of Ghost of Yōtei waiting for me to have some free time. I haven't been this excited for a game in years.

Today my RSS server died because of a breaking change in postgres:latest. Thankfully I have daily backups, so I restored yesterday, pinned to postgres:17 and we're back up an running. It's a rare treat to get to test backups in anger and just have it all work.

I'm back on Deep Rock Galactic Survivor now the 1.0 patch has dropped and it's still great fun. I'll probably keep playing it until Ghost of Yōtei drops. Tsushima quickly became one of my favourite games so I'm hyped for Yōtei. #gaming #steamdeck #ps5

I've been playing around with locally hosted LLMs again. They've definitely improved in the last 6 months or so on the same hardware, but I'd have to spend like £350-400 on a (used!) GPU to make it run better. I haven't found a serious/productive use to justify that expense. #ai #llm

The sound control isn't perfect. I almost woke my wife booting it up next to her as it seems to always boot at 100% volume, so I had to edit batocera.conf to change splash.screen.sound=1 to 0 to disable that.

It's really good, but I had a lot of issues getting it work. The punchline is use an old version of Balena Etcher (1.18 or less) to make the SD Card.

I'm determined to play some Lightgun games this year and have installed Batocera on an SD Card on my Steamdeck.

I did a couple of hours of levelling and I spanked Giratina. I'm not sure if I have completing the Pokédex in me though. Is it worth it?

I finished Phantom Liberty and thought it was time to go back and complete Assassin's Creed Odyssey and it holds up really well considering it's been 5 years since I last played it.

I've also been playing Arceus on my commute and that last boss is a real difficulty spike, right? I can't even say skill check because even with the right team it mostly comes down to being high enough level.

Phantom Liberty WAS great fun, but the Songbird core ending is horror, I don't want to play a horror game. It's definitely the worst end if you don't like horror.

After 4 years I've finally gone back to Cyberpunk, I'm playing Phantom Liberty and it's great fun. I'm a bit OP at level 50 but I'm enjoying the story.

I'm surprised that none of the major tech bloggers I've read have compared the new macOS glass effects to those in Windows Vista. I'm glad to see that plenty of you on here have though!

I beat Gná on NG+! That was one of the toughest fights I've ever faced in a game. I found Lunda's armour was best and I only used my fists which was very satisfying when I finally beat her.

Also I still hate Gná, I'm probably on attempt #30 by now. Only finding time for a few goes each evening.

Notifications on my S25 were getting delayed. Turns out it's either an Android 'feature' called Doze, or my VPN getting in the way. Either way I fixed it. App > Battery > Unrestricted, and on the VPN I just put all the apps I wanted to notify me through a split tunnel.

I got back off a family holiday and put in a few fights against Hrolf and managed to finish him off. When he finally went down I shouted 'YOU WILL BE FORGOTTEN' at him. On to Gná!

I’ve known Robert Prevost for years as one of the main figures in online TMNT fandom, where no one has a bad word to say about him. He probably won’t have as much time to contribute to Turtles wikis with his new gig but I though his choice of “Pope Leo” was a lovely nod to the community

On my first play through of God of War Ragnarok it glitched and locked me out of an area and I couldn't get the Plat. Many months later I'm now playing NG+. I finally made it to King Hrolf and he isn't playing around, is he? It's definitely going to take me a couple of nights to finish him off.

I hate knowing a package is due to arrive. It eats far too much of my mental capacity trying to listen out for the door / a car outside etc.
If it arrives early it's great, otherwise I just spend all day updating tracking / wondering if I missed it.
