Nice writeup. Do you see the Strong Towns focus on long term economic sustainability as aligned with YIMBY?

Authored by Sen. Scott Wiener and championed by YIMBYs, this is one of the most significant zoning reforms in modern California history. It's a bold step toward the future of our cities.

By allowing mid-rise apartments near rail and bus hubs in 8 urban counties, the law directly promotes:

I learned all this and much more in a free workshop hosted by @beta.nyc on Monday. Fortunately, they're hosting ANOTHER workshop on Friday! If you want to learn the nuts and bolts of what it means for governments to be transparent and make data-drive decisions this is a great place to start!

It turns out this is just another step in a long long history of NYC's efforts to make governing transparent. For over 150 years they've published a daily newspaper called The City Record that gives a detailed view of what the city's many departments are doing.

It was a wonderful episode so I can recommend it!
