You will never get social liberalism while the PM's Chief of Staff is a Blue Labour fanboy

My peak CM was CM from about 1992. It's that available?

It's easy to do the right thing when there are no financial, emotional or other costs

It's much harder to do it like you have when there are costs

You've shown bravery, leadership and integrity

All traits lacking in the top brass of the BBC

In the long run you will sleep better *every* night

The Tories massively politicised the management of the BBC and one of the (many) mistakes of this govt was to leave the hard right outriders like Robbie Gibb intact at the BBC.

Maybe it was a deliberate strategy from the Blue Labour entryists in No 10?

I agree. I've got my criticisms of Wes (& his use of Milburn) but that quote is just unnecessarily snide

It's got the whiff of someone who thought up the "concentrate on..." line & just shoehorned it in

It's a good line that would be better used on other politicians

McSweeney will read this and conclude Labour aren't leaning into Reform *enough* and therefore they need to be tougher on immigration and refugees.

Indian (and other Asian born) parents can be quite demanding.

PS well done on the 85%. As I've got older I've learned to stop chasing perfection. It's exhausting for me (and also for others) and it is unnecessary. Just take your win (or loss), learn from it, and move on to the next thing.

Not necessarily an autistic thing. I once got 97% on a maths assignment in my engineering degree but obsessed about the lost 3%.

That was bcos of my (Indian) dad who would be pleased if I got 90% in an exam, but would be angry if I got 95% because, "if you got 95% you could have got 100%"

Where is that passage from? Was it Glasman?

If this is aimed at Green curious Lab voters then I disagree.

I'm a union official of a Labour affiliated union and I've spoken to many Green curious Lab voters in our union (both union staff and union members).

I know one of the major issues is the Reform-lite refugee/ immigration policies (and rhetoric) of the govt.

There has been near universal disgust with the govt.

This article dodges that.

PS If the article isn't aimed at Green curious Lab voters, then what is the point of the article?

“Morgan always warned that Labour’s strategy was not working”

That is also true.

Also suspect it will be appended by "We tried to change course but the soft left stopped us".

They have to blame the soft left as they've eliminated the rest of the left from the party.
