Bootstrapping beekeeperstudio.io, the open source SQL editor and database manager that is legit nice to use. British, but live in Texas.
Well I guess users liked the 5.0 Beekeeper Studio release (available on beekeeperstudio.io).

Can we all just admit that s3 sleep is better and stop trying to get s0 sleep working?

Yes yes, Apple can do it, but the rest of us just want our laptops to work right, so please bring back S3 sleep.

What use is 7 years of software updates if literally no part of the device can be repaired?

Man, both ChatGPT and Claude are completely wiffing for me with codegen lately.

It's just making up APIs for common libraries.

Just me, or others seeing this too?

Whenever my wife goes away for a work trip I find myself sucked into a new app idea and spend the nights after the kids go to bed furiously building a prototype and eventually wearing myself out.

Thank God she's home.

Ansible's best feature is it's default integration with cowsay.

Totally would still be using Chef if it integrated with cowsay by default.

Half life 2 20yr documentary is great. Really interesting with good pacing.

Thought the style was familiar, low and behold it was made by the @noclipvideo.bsky.social crew! Knew I spotted the back of @dannyodwyer.bsky.social in one of the shots :-)

Would love to see Blue sky adopt the original WhatsApp revenue model:

@joshuawood.net @bencurtis.com I'm using Heya to send sequences to folks when they sign up for my app, but curious if you use an email marketing platform to send newsletters, or if you just do it from Rails?

Having problems with Brevo...but my heya emails work great, so was curious how you do it?

Starter packs were such an awesome idea.

Really simple and solves a genuine network bootstrapping problem.

Imagine starter packs for other apps like cool sushi restaurants on Google maps, or Reddit communities!

For any devs not using WezTerm, you should give it a try, it's great. Super fast and responsive, and I added tmux-style keybindings and replaced Tmux completely in just a few minutes.

I think a lot about Luigi, the workflow system for Hadoop I used to use in 2009 and how the idempotent model would make a fantastic build system.

Luigi lets you re-execute an entire workflow, and only the incomplete parts need to run. Plus config is code (python). Was amaz

@joshuawood.net how much leeway do you give big customers when they go over their limits? Do you ever automatically upgrade folks?

How do folks hire web designers who can also write html and css?

What job titles / bios do you look for?

Having the design so disconnected from the medium isn't working for me.

Wonder if now is the time to buy a bunch of small WordPress plugin businesses?

Feels like they must be taking a beating with the WPEngine / WordPress fight
