Turn A is always my recc for the one gundam series normal people should watch, it's the eest starting point really bc it's such a great embodiment of what makes the classic shows work. It's like a Rosetta stone for a new viewer to then easily appreciate the older stuff.

Also always happily surprised by how much cult and international cinema you can find on there. If I'm watching something I always give it a search to see if someones done the favor.

I've seen all of Turn A, 79', Stardust and now Zeta on YouTube. The only steaming distributors I respect.

I watched like half of lodoss a couple months ago b4 getting bust and forgetting and it's completely gorg and super nostalgic if you had my teenage enviroment of basement DND games and picking out random OVAs to watch but its also literally exactly what you think it is.

What intimidates me now is that I really liked having those OVAs as like, a little break. It's still gundam and it makes my binge so much bigger lol but it's a quicker breezier shot of gundam to refresh. I really like these core shows but I'm staring down the barrel of like 80 uninterrupted eps.
