What a beautiful Premier League table.

I love Arsenal being 6 points clear of City and United, and Liverpool out of sight.

This is a shocking thing to say. So the UN, International genocide scholars, and even Jewish/Israeli genocide scholars....are all wanting to just commit another Holocaust according to Noah.

The New York Times continues to report Trump's behavior in the same non-urgent manner it reported the rise of Hitler.

It only took the Washington Post 2 more months to complete the purge of black staff columnists.

Continued appeasement of an ideology that believes black people don't belong in certain spaces.

There's a surprising amount of social progressives I watched that became either genocide deniers or defenders.

There's a "complexity" they grant to the genocide wherein they would see clarity with other human rights issues.

Maybe they'll be open to the evidence they establish as required.

Let's go Arsenal! Hoping for a really big season for us this year.

Curtis Yarvin, who has been profiled in media like Politico and The Wall Street Journal, has publicly stated in the past that he thinks black people are naturally fit to be slaves.

Remember though that before the election, and before Trump, the main topic was the cost of living and things like the previous years under Liberal government.

Not every voter abandoned that framing or saw the election as primarily about Trump.

This was from the end of March.

The media continues to show itself unprepared for the current moment, in completely swallowing the Trump administration's false pretexts for its attacks on higher education.

Republicans in Congress have the power to stop this whenever they choose. But they'll have to stand up to the Mad King and risk his wrath.

Meanwhile, the people suffer.

Received my copy of the really great The Carlson Girls by author R.S. Penney (@richsp.bsky.social), who was one of my first social media friends years ago.

I read an early edition of this book and got completely immersed in it.

Maybe I'm missing something, but this is the first paragraph.

Reminder: Thomas here beat up his girlfriend and then blamed rap music for his actions.

His inability to grant agency to anyone but those he opposes is par for the course with him.

Time to hear about how complicated egg prices are and how it's not Trump's fault.

Grandmaster Fabiano Caruana reached a heart rate of 170 during a chess game.

Now I see why my Garmin watch thinks I'm so stressed during the day. It's just evaluating my chess games as running from a pride of lions.

Maybe I'm mixing up Cantor with this guy. In which case, my bad. There's a reason I remember Cantor though. 🤔
January 12, 2025 at 11:51 PM
And look at this from that Michael guy.

"The exaggerated harmfulness of child-adult sex"

The man is talking about rape, and not labeling it pedophilia. I sure remember Cantor was one of the ones who was pushing a different, more innocuous definition too.

Another aspect of that situation that was interesting for me is that Michael Bailey was an important person in the fight against trans people, and a lot of those who jumped to his defense were also members of the TERF community.
January 12, 2025 at 1:51 PM
The closest I came to quitting social media was when I called out a person who uses terms like "virtuous pedophiles" and generally advocates for pedophiles, and got an incredible amount of push back from mainstream people calling for sympathy for them.

"What do you call a black man with a PhD? A n*gg*r" - Malcolm X

Still accurate today for too many people, sadly.

This is what will lead to things like blatant racists writing articles stating they think racism is abhorrent.

Maybe it is gaslighting, but mainly of themselves.

Ontario, Canada's most populous province has the Special Investigations Unit to investigate police use of force. This unit was created after protests about police killing multiple black men.

But sure, it's "wokeism" that introduced the idea of racism.

Even if you don't see the whole thing, can you find the main idea(s)?

White to move with a winning position.

A nice blitz rating distribution graph on Lichess.org. If I were to *double* my chess strength, I'd only move up above 0.5% of the population.

What an incredible end to the chess world championship match. Current champion Ding Liren blunders in a completely drawn position.

All hail the new world champion, and the youngest ever at just 18. This young man's future is so bright.
