This is the statement provided to Rascal during our initial reporting on this story back in November. You can read the full article by becoming a member of the site or paying $1 to read the individual piece.
Over the weekend, and after I drafted the original piece, Milton told Rascal via email that he had posted the following statement to his YouTube channel: Because some people have asked, I should make it clear that I have never looked up my sponsors' politics, and I (obviously) don't endorse any of my sponsors' political beliefs. I do find it very distasteful when publishers use politics or the culture war to sell RPGs, however, and wish I had known about that ahead of time. I'm not interested in sponsors that do similar things in the future. EDIT: The sponsor has requested and received a refund for their ad, and as a result it has been removed from the video.

Initially, Gary Gygax, co-creator of D&D, was relatively positive on these APAs talking about his game. Though, in an oft-repeated anecdote, the editor of A&E did catch him by surprise. In an interview with Spike Y Jones, long-time contributor of A&E, that was published in the 300th issue, Gold recounted a phone call she received: Lee: Hi Voice: I’d like to speak to Lee Gold Lee: I’m Lee Gold Voice: You’re a woman! Lee: Yes, that’s right. Who are you? Voice: I’m Gary Gygax. Lee: Mr Gygax. How wonderful to speak to you. We really love your game D&D. Gygax: You’re a woman! Lee: Yes, that’s right. I assume you’re calling because I mailed you a copy of A&E. Gygax: You’re a woman! Lee: Yes, that’s right. Was there anything special you wanted to talk about? Gygax: I wrote some bad things about women wargamers… Lee: That’s all right. I never read the article. You don’t have to feel embarrassed. Gygax: You’re a woman!

On Monday June 24, the CRIT Awards cancelled their ceremony at Gen Con due to "safety concerns" amid online harassment from Zionists. So far, neither Gen Con nor the CRIT Awards have offered definitive answers.
