My point (which i may not be making well) is just that they are inconsistent. They would never, in a million years, admit that businesses can just absorb taxes; the mantra is that taxes get passed on to consumers. Yet here we are in the tariff conversation and they are taking the opposite tack.

Over the past decade or so, the left has walked away from free speech (aclu is a shell of its former self). Way too sensitive, branding everything as hate speech (yes, that's protected too). I guess I just lament that I used to like it when the other guys had no principles.
