This argument just won’t die chiefly because it offers a superficial solution that doesn’t offend anyone & requires few hard choices. London is living proof you can’t solve traffic with public transport - it has world class PT & awful congestion. Good PT is essential but not sufficient.

It's a thought experiment more than anything, but the current set up would allow them with a tweak to the TRO - mopeds and motor cycles are a thing that some people use.

So you never walk at the other end and you drive every single trip?

I love the b3ta image challenges, but adding "b3ta loves the way you move" to each one as alt text is out of order.

That's the tricky issue; what I don't know is what loading could be added in terms of things like mopeds. 20 at once 30? An interesting point.

The pod system was designed to be under 3 tonnes, but would only run one over at a time, mainly because of the two way cycle track.

The current restriction is no motors, but I don't know if there is a max flow of mopeds that creates any issues.

Exemptions by class would be possible and specific vehicles could be given access with a permit.

But, enforcement would have to be with a barrier system for access because an open and camera enforced system risks something heavier getting through.

Buses used to cross one at a time alternatively!

This junction, despite being in a neighbourhood was often too busy and drivers bullied. If through traffic were to be removed it might be better

Here's a junction in Rotterdam I stayed right next to over the summer. I think simple zebras have a place, but they are not a total solution when traffic volumes are high and as administrative controls, they are both reliant on compliance and harder to use for some people.

The bottom and left arms have stop lines across them which isn't a 4 way stop and I can see signal gantry shadows.

NYC. Wouldn't that be a signal controlled junction?

That fly through still looks amazing
