VEO 3 now available to pro users in the UK.
Pretty incredible according to Ernie, although he swears it wasn't him and he's been framed. So now Ernie and I are having a chat about the positive and negative potential of video generation with AI, and responsible use.

Thought for the 16th century:

Em dashes — versatile punctuation for emphasis, interruption, or explanation.

Use them wisely to add punch and clarity to your writing while you can!

❔ What's your favourite feature from #CanvaCreate?

For me it has to be Canva Code, but there are so many to explore!

These days, when you're bored waiting for your wife at the opticians, you can create some pretty good AI generated content on sketchy 4G.
Looking forward to delivering more keynotes and workshops in the coming months.

Technology can sometimes become the scapegoat for wider frustrations in work and life.

Quality coaching conversations can help to unpack these and often help find solutions that stretch beyond the tech.

#aiineducation Thought for the day: The question is not whether AI can teach, but whether we can teach AI to teach wisely and effectively.

If you can sketch it, no matter the quality - ChatGPT's new image gen can handle the clean up for you with ease!

Prompt: Take this terrible line drawing and tidy it up so it looks clear, professional and colourful. Make it print quality. #EduSky

🎙️ Have you got to speak in public soon? Are you worried how you might come across?

😟 Imposter syndrome is real, right?

💡 How about using an LLM in voice mode for feedback while you rehearse?

Try a prompt like this and then start speaking. #EduSky

Thought for the day: As adults, are many of us too focused on being replaced & therefore dismissive? Are we overly constrained by rules & norms? Does the creativity of youth & the willingness to explore AI mean the next generation are actually more likely to make us redundant than AI itself?

Thought for the day:

As much as I am optimistic about AI in education, it's important to carefully consider where, how and more importantly WHY we might use it.

We certainly don't want to use it everywhere, all the time.

The smart device battle rages on.

I’m an advocate of teaching responsible use but I also appreciate where schools are at.

If schools ban smartphones, parents lack the tools or knowledge to teach responsible use, but employers expect it…..who builds the bridges?

I've decided to start a substack (cheaper than a Ferrari when you're mid-life in a cost of living minefield).

The first article is about how created a visual story for my granddaughter over breakfast. #EduSky

I always enjoy delivering workshops for colleagues.

I am forever grateful that I get these opportunities at Lift Schools and beyond.

The session this week was a particular joy because it took me back to my MFL roots with a new AI related focus.

Me siento muy satisfecho.

An AI assisted storybook created in under 8 minutes using AI studio & @canva.

I may add some audio to each page at some point, or I may not.

I've had a go at using #AI Studio to generate a visual story.

Not perfect & it can get stuck due to community standards -scene 3 (not a bad thing at all in my book, but you can adjust the default settings if you wish).

A) Wow, pretty impressive
B) Hmm, how might Clifford feel about this?

As Mustafa Suleyman suggests in The Coming Wave, whether you embrace AI or try to avoid it there is Risk as a final destination.

How we mitigate against the risks comes down to contextual awareness that we won't get from burying our heads in the sand.

Tomorrow I get to reunite with my kind of people at our Lift Schools East regional MFL INSET.
As a former teacher of 🇪🇸, 🇫🇷 and 🇩🇪 for many, many years, I'm really looking forward to sharing with colleagues how responsible AI can enhance learning in and beyond the MFL classroom.

Thought for the day:

Is AI widening gaps or helping to close them?

With students permitted to use AI by exam boards, what are we doing to ensure all students have access to this opportunity?

How are we teaching them to use AI appropriately?

Thought for the day:

Should we hold technology to a higher standard than we do ourselves?

Is it ok to expect tech to be flawless?

When making decisions about tech, we might be inclined to insist on 100% accuracy or reject it.

Is that a reasonable decision?

I love seeing how different versions of tools interpret the same prompt.

3 iterations from Kling 1.0, 1,5 and 1.6 for the prompt "A red smooth-haired Dachshund sitting by a fire"

My immediate thought was that the dog is too close to the fire, but expert sausage Ernie says it's about right. #AI
