But in terms of ukemi progression, at least the opponent's ukemi becomes better/more complex as their rank increases (e.g. from simple rolls to break falls with weapons in hand)

On the player gaining ukemi skills, I wasn't focusing on that in terms of game play. However, when I created the animations, I wanted to show that there are many ways that we fall (e.g. forward rolls, back rolls, break falls, etc.) The game's intent wasn't for teaching but more of an awareness tool.

I hear you on lowering partners health. This is a convention used in gaming where players can cycle through various opponents in order to introduce variety to the video game.

Thank you for your feedback! It is a game simulation of randori or taninzugake, a practice we do in higher ranked aikido tests. My goal was for players to get an idea of the basic movements of aikido in hopes that they get inspired to train themselves.

Points are obtained by draining the opponent's health. Then they bow out and fade, then two more opponents appear

For example, if you press the green button when a white belt attacks, you do iriminage, but when a yellow belt attacks, that same green button does ikkyo, and so forth

The game has the players as nage and the computer as uke. You get four buttons from which to choose the technique. As different ranked enemies attack, it automatically switches the technique for the button.

Yes, the models are rigged like a normal human skeleton. This allows the animations to be programmed where even the individual fingers are assigned a movement.

The physics is Earth physics, I guess. The player gets hit by an attack and it sends them backward. The enemy is thrown and they fall to the ground at normal gravity. Hope this answers your question!

Thanks for the feedback! It's a coming of age story based on two teenagers getting their black belts and becoming adults. I wouldn't even know how to introduce tengu aikidoka, other than creating the option to change the skin. Actually, this isn't a bad idea, thank you!
