What on earth is this paragraph, where the Guardian journalists cook up an excuse for Starmer that is not borne by the evidence. In at least two studies published last week, it was demonstrated that Labour simply don't have more right wing votes to lose.

What's important to note here is that the "negative feedback" that stopped Corbyn consisted of elevating Kahanist mates of Tommy Robinson to a central position of determining of what is and isn't legitimate political activity. The destabilising positive feedback cycle has been going on for a decade.
