It was nice and the tide was among the lowest of the year, so I went to Golden Gardens Beach yesterday. Here’s a little bit of what I saw.

New drug seems to be helping. Feeling hopeful. Had enough energy to cut my hair! Feeling more like myself.

A few roses are beginning to bloom, along with lots of other flowers, at the Woodland Park Rose Garden.

The garden gates close at dusk, so my vampire doesn’t hunt in the garden, but be cautious everywhere outside the garden at night. 🧛🏽

Short walk at Woodland Park. I miss my long afternoons spent in the woods. ME sucks away your previous life, leaving you with little reminders when you’re feeling up to it. Sorry. No energy left for Alt Text today.

If you’ve wondered why I’ve been so quiet, well, I don’t have the energy to do much besides survive. I have ME. I’ll need to lie down to recharge my battery for half an hour after creating this post. Not looking for sympathy, but I wanted you to know.

The light at the pond was soft and golden at Golden Gardens in Seattle this evening. Glad I went.

Another walk today—much shorter and with a long rest in the middle—at the Rose Garden (next to Woodland Park Zoo in N Seattle). Warmer and drier than expected. The roses are just beginning their annual show.

Tried out the new boots on a short walk at Shilshole Marina. Beautiful night for looking for sculptures on the breakwater and sealions on the docks. Easy enough to find by the constant arf arf arf.

PS the boots are perfect.👌

I’ve been putting off buying new hiking boots for three years, opting to repeatedly patch the old ones with shoe goo. With the uncertainty of the future, and the new boots carrying a significant discount, I splurged. They feel really good on my feet.

Suggested for recession/tariff preparations.

I have a some happy news. April 1st is the six month anniversary for “Being a Vampire,” and the three month anniversary for “Strength of a Vampire!” Still hard to believe I’m really a published author. Read more in my newsletter. It’s on Substack. open.substack.com/pub/ramonari...

Today, for my walk, I chose the South Parking Lot at Woodland Park. It’s where Rix first meets Maggie. Also where she spots him near the end of “Being a Vampire,” setting up the finale.

I felt good this morning, so took advantage to go for a walk at Golden Gardens beach. It was overcast and 50, but the steady 12-15 knot wind was bone chilling. Listened and edited book three as I walked. Getting close to done. 🧛🏽📚

Both of my books were scraped to feed Meta’s GenAI. Using this tool and ones like it only validates the oligarchs to continue stealing from the masses.

This is the spectacular view from the bluff at Seattle’s Discovery Park. For those attending @seattlein2025.org this summer, I highly recommend this park if you want to get away for a quick visit to the woods or beach, or both.

During my walk at Discovery Park, I made it out to the bluff. The morning fog was nearly gone, and the foghorns had long since stopped bellowing. See alt text on photos for more.

Walked almost two miles at Seattle’s Discovery Park. 55 and sunny. Feels like summer! We call these days “false spring.” There were places in the woods where my mask was required because of pollens filling the air.
