Brand Strategy Director when employed. Panicking when not.
Venezuelan-Canadian in Berlin.
I'd probably go for the Battle of Las Queseras del Medio (Venezuelan Independence) where 150 lancers defeated a cavalry of 1200 (killing 400, but only losing 2).

Anyways, 5 lessons for Freelancers.

But I am genuinely shocked about this one weird trick I learned about distinctive assets.

And the coming months/years will be rough.

Also: Trudeau. Many liberal voters were looking for change. Initially it seemed CPC would be it. But Trudeau-Carney switch was enough.

They could be the incumbents while promising change (eliminating the Carbon Tax, for example). Something the Democrats in the US failed to do.

Yes, I think conservatives held gains they got from the past years. The most important are demographic shifts (younger, more ethnic diverse, and with less formal education).

From my reading, the main factor is Trump. His tariff-talk raised Liberals from the ashes and the NDP preferred to step back to avoid splitting the vote too much so the Conservatives, who have been more MAGA-friendly, didn't get power.

Agree. Val Kilmer is great in it. RDJ too.

Could be. I definitely see a lot of benefit in depth. In agencies it is usually through specific tasks across industries and clients within a vertical. E.g. I have worked with 5 automotive brands.

Also when you're trained for and rewarded for cross-pollination, it feels like a hard pattern to shake

Rationally, I'm with you. But over 17 years in agencies is a mental frame I have to unravel.

For example, I love diving into new industries. Generally I've had 3-5 clients simultaneously.

Auto, cannabis, medical software, luxury watches, contact lenses, supermarkets, beer, pet food, SaaS, etc.

To be fair, it's quebecoise

Yup, that's my thought. Especially now at my ripe old age.

It's a material science firm. They do sustainable innovation stuff. B2B. No real "sexy" brand.
March 28, 2025 at 2:52 PM
Yup. Where I'm freelancing now
March 28, 2025 at 2:34 PM
This one is client side, B2B.
Flip side: they do sustainable innovation things.
