I'm afraid it's simply that my contract with them doesn't include the ROI. I thought it did but it's something that must have slipped through the cracks, sadly. So at this point they're powerless to do anything about availability there.

I genuinely think you can go into either first, although you might settle into the world of The Salt Oracle quicker if you read Ghosts first. They are quite different books tonally - Ghosts is quieter & foresty, Salt Oracle is pacier & darker - so I'd say just go with the one that most appeals!
