my attention was grabbed in 2.0, the titan fight into the waking sands moment, but that was mostly for oc story investment as a hook. nidhogg tho made me pause and just go "holy fuck"

went on the usual 4:30pm cact train today, was quick and ez, nice even

logged in for hide n seek, checked out the ihnuxokiy spawn, immediately saw lots of "go back to aether" snapping in shout chat. lovely.

(tho some folks are of the opinion that primal is where some of the outcasts go, ie. ppl being kicked out of RP spaces elsewhere or raiding rejects from aether. my opinion is that hunt jackasses have DC travel, you will find them anywhere now.)

can't speak for much of aether's hunters behind the scenes, but there isn't a lot of chatter about primal other than remarking on the 5m pull time as "oh they're strict" and being concerned about how frequently and freely primal resets their S ranks.

there's a general disdain toward aether to the point where anyone moving there from primal goes "yeah i've heard x and y about their hunt scene, should i even try, etc. etc." it's just faster paced and less forgiving, you have to learn you won't make it to every S rank

1am addition, re: primal & aether snipping at each other. i sometimes get noticed in aether trains or crowds, haven't gotten anything more than a "haha p-mal" jab. some aether hunters got snarled at in the crossfire when there was an aether EPer making primal *and* crystal crowds upset last week

recently did a dynamis dawntrail S rank train but only managed 2 marks + an SS, called it a night bc it was 1:30am and they were each taking 14m bc folks didn't understand the pyretic debuff

oh wait, smth about how dynamis can and will have an hours long queue of S ranks ready to be pushed to public announcements...... i did one (1) hunt there as an aether resident, took 14-15 min to gather folks and kill a *stormblood* S rank, told myself it wasn't worth the time

anyways welcome to my hunt rambling, i love the hunt but it's been A Time watching primal and aether snip at each other behind locked channels since i'm still in the cactuar resident channels (and the contributor server) + now in the primal spawner lounge lmao,,,,

i don't really recall the hunt culture on crystal anymore, just that mateus' regular conductors kinda disappeared before i moved to aether and i only recognized train regulars, maybe a few S rank crowd regulars? still, 3m, don't reset if u can, ignore and don't say Diavolo's name, etc.

but their general attitude is that if you want to hunt, you'll be in hunt mode ready to sprint to that S rank, or you'll be spawning it yourself. if smth is early pulled, hold damage until 3m or the pull time comes along, and then go all in. kill it, move on, there are always more S ranks.
