the most complete solution for this today is to turn off ipv4 on your tailnet, if you're using magicdns for most things apps probably won't notice at all, and you'll be cgnat free tailnet side - no conflicts.

also just watch your temperatures, you could easily swing the brass by over 20 degrees, it's not a huge change but if you make everything too tight it could become relevant as it cools

and if they're not tight enough, you could use some teflon tape to fill the gap

i can't really see that closely on the image because of resolution, but it looks like there's a lip on the plastic, and you could probably fashion a backstop from a washer to provide substantial overtension resistance, provided the brass and plastic threads are fairly tight

i don't qualify as machinist bluesky
if you have a thread cutter the size of the pen body thread, then you could make a threaded mandrel with a backstop
if you really need to reduce pressure even more on the inner thread then a threaded mandrel and cut on a lathe instead
brass shouldn't too tough

it works consistently for a super slim slice of the total amount of data that it covers - keyboard, pointer, _maybe_ a microphone, _even more maybe_ some headphones, and then it goes very very steeply downhill from there and into full freefall by the time you get to cdc-ecm/ncm, power, bulk transfer

at least it's undefined & something, you weren't considered undefined behavior and entirely eliminated by the optimizer

it's barely a metaphor, in a lot of implementations a lot of the vertical mess comes from they both stand atop HCI which clearly stands for "[this] house [of] cards [has] instability"

posix doesn't standardize over many filesystem apis, you could make a compelling argument that the cross platform problem is rooted there. e.g. go's ecosystem still doesn't have a decently functional portable filesystem watch api is exhibit zero, they made loud noise about trying and then failed

there is a community IRC on irc://libera.chat/tailscale but with limited moderation it remains just an unofficial community space
it's also been around for years (before i started at tailscale) and only has ~100 handles, the discord was much larger before we even announced it
