Absolute madness! Got to love it. After that I think mentally the weight on the team lifted after that, let's hope they can keep on with that positive mindset

to be fair I'm not sure many sides would have expected vdV to run the whole pitch and beat their keeper - absolutely key. Without that I was expected a tough last 30 minutes or so. And he didn't have much option but to keep going until he had 1 man to beat and the keeper 😂

I think they opened up a bit thinking they had a chance and then they got done.

If Kolo Muani can take that performance forward then maybe things will get a bit more exciting in the league 😅

Must be to some extent. The few times we get to the box they try to beat 3 men and lose the ball since we took so long to progress up the pitch and also take the wrong decision. Currently that seems our peak excitement in a game. If a very rare cross comes in the strikers are in a state of shock

The worst thing is when there is a forward pass, and then they delay on the ball, and end up turning and going back towards our goal. Even the chances that are there, we're not willing/able to take them

Mate, some of his passing against Newcastle was woeful, so he has some responsibility not even doing the basics, and he's been knocked off the ball fairly easily. But I agree, after the defensive third there is nothing

On the plus side the keeper and back 4, plus Palinha have been alright....apart from that it's a disaster

You can question our strikers but they get almost zero service and seem incapable of generating anything themselves. Apart from Kudus, there is little else, and he gets triple marked now everyone can see he is the only one 😂

All the creativity is dependent on Xavi adapting to the PL as fast as possible.... it was the problem before the season started and it will be the problem for some time to come it seems. He's had a few flashes, but barely moving the creativity meter....

Potter's not the man for these players, they need a Moyes/Allardyce type

They've only had 3 weeks off, I hope they didn't become totally unfit in those 3 weeks 😅

Need some creative magic for the low block opponents in the PL - and a stronger bench for these top games.
August 13, 2025 at 9:34 PM
Need to have a bench as good as the opponents - also needed to challenge in all competitions. Then the special creativity needed to break down teams playing a low defensive block which tends to be our weakness.

Levy has history in wasting opportunities to push the club forwards in the pitch, such as after the CL final defeat. Looks like we will be doing the same again. We won a trophy so of course the squad is good enough.....no need to go overboard 😅🤔

But it smacks to me of needing to focus on one competition, the PL, to avoid ending in the bottom half.
August 10, 2025 at 10:58 AM
The problem is in the PL and CL the teams likely to win those have their bench of that quality of player. I guess it's another year of blind faith and hope for the best without too high expectations.

Also the reality is we relied on players like Moore to fill in many times last season, and if anything, now the squad is weaker and just as injury plagued....but we knew that "we should be a team to compete in all competitions" was just a convenient way to explain firing Ange after winning a trophy
