About: - 26 y/o disabled transmasc, university student. fleeing WV for NY with my cat. - lost approx. $1,400 USD (AKA entire tax refund, which was meant to save for the move) when my previous apartment in the city flooded with sewage in April. landlords did nothing for nearly a month, city and health dept also did nothing to help. lost the apartment and several personal belongings in the process. renter's insurance didn't cover any of it. - forced to withdraw from final semester in WV right before finals, got very sick from the conditions of the apartment (right after recovering from an entirely separate illness). have been informed by a lawyer that suing is not an option, so recovering ANY of that money is out. - only option was to move back in with QAnon grandma in a secluded area with no cellphone service or public transit, poor wifi, and even worse attitudes towards trans people. can't find a job - have tried, am apparently not good enough for Speedway or Taco Bell, of all places. - am completely broke, trying to figure out how to afford an apartment in NYS before mid-August. school starts August 25th. may have found a roommate, and will be able to afford rent after August 25th, but not prior to that.
