Well, here's the new Retekess V115P. My Retekess V115 still works fine. One of them does, anyway. The other had an . . . incident . . . with the USB charger port and, well, I haven't fixed that yet. Anyway, I bought this because I do actually use the V115 quite a lot to record from other radios and

Had an errand in the area, so I stopped by the British Emporium. My afternoon's all set 💕🫖

Road trip, I45 edition: picture of Sam Houston statue outside Hunstville, TX, in the rain. No, I was not driving when I took this, but I have seen people snapping pics while driving and also that time a car stopped IN THE MIDDLE LANE of I45 to take a picture. Don't do that. Either of those. Please.

Road trip report, I35 edition: one day, this wireless electricity thing needs to make an appearance in one of my poems. Viziv antenna, Carl's Corner, TX.

I'm going to have to do an in-person event again one of these days. There are . . . way more where these came from. Very many more. So it's either in-person event or actually organize my space 🤣 #poetry #cozymystery #booksky

Words in this morning on an escapist cozy mystery that has been an absolute delight to draft. #joyisresistance Work to do, letters to write later (especially to TX GOP), but trying to focus on hope today.

First loaf of the year! And, no, I'm not doing some "365 loaves of bread" challenge or anything. There are already too many carbs in my life 🤣. Happy 2025!

Not much time for #shortwave these days (or, really, too much QRM, because I live in QRMville), but I did catch NHK on 6,105kHz last night from Issoudun, France. Music came through nicely. Disregard the signal there, as I had to move the radio for the pic. #radiwow

When you make thumbprint cookies for National Cookie Day, and they turn out looking like kolaches, but disappointingly enough, they are not, in fact, kolaches (that's on the list for next time I'm making bread though, haha).

I've never written Christmas letters myself, but someone has for the main character in my Not the End of the World Mysteries.... Find out more in "Sugar Cookies and Slander at the Shumard Oak Ranch," just one story among a whole tasty package of cozy holiday mysteries! books2read.com/ACookieofaSc...

Good morning! Made a rustic fruit loaf yesterday. I've made quick breads for ages, but I'm working on building my yeast bread baking skills (because that requires far more skill than most quick breads....). Still needs something (more salt, more kneading), but we're working on it. Not pictured: tea.

I never reply to rejections from literary magazines and journals, so I don't know why a certain email provider thinks I would ever say any of these, particularly that last one 🤣

I'm between pets, so please enjoy "goth eyeliner orange tabby," who is posing on top of an early 2000s Timex clock radio and beside my mic. Tabby cat here needs a friend, which will probably be a desk goose, given that I'm also between porches, and thus cannot have a porch goose.

Hi, it's an intro post! Sort of! I'm Tammy D. Walker (mysteries) / T.D. Walker (poetry and shortwave radio) / KI5ODE (amateur radio) / mom / academic writing adjunct instructor / (former-ish) software developer / very blue in a red state / writer of at least four works-in-progress (or five, hah)

I should do an intro post at some point, but this morning, I'm assembling the final manuscript document for, Parallax, a collection of poems I've been working on for four years that examines how we'd interact with a memorial generated by AI. Progress....
