Idk if this is an unpopular opinion but I don’t think it’s necessary at all for a character to “exhibit their sexuality” on screen for their sexuality to be canonized.
If the creator says “I want this character to be x, so they’re x” then the character is x, like—

Right! That's what I saw, too! A couple of fic authors lost steam for their other ship fics over it. Like guyssss this is what fics ARE for - fics don't need to be 2000% canon, that's the point! The best fics do a lot of heavy lifting to make things work, anyway - and canon will have to do the same!
