in Nazi Germany you had to carry a "Kennkarte" and if you were Jewish it had a big red "J" on it so that whoever was asking for your 'papers' would know how to restrict you. I think there would be a great many red letters on a US "Kennkarte", should they start requiring it.

My big excitement was knee surgery the day after xmas. other than that still working full time, going to see the Tamara Lempicka exhibit in SF next week, and getting itchy to start creating again (instead of working).
