My parents managed to keep us on a diet of microwave dinners and canned soup despite keeping kosher enough that we could only have tv dinners that were mac and cheese or fish sticks and canned soup that lacked any kind of meat broth.

Oh my fucking god, I was _doing_ deep lit reviews of the harms Facebook was doing at the time, I remember wanting to find the research FB was conducting _including_ this, and none of my fucking supervisors thought that was as worthwhile as cherrypicked stats about teen suicide from Jonathan Haidt.

100%. Mamdani handled it perfectly. He made it clear to Trump that he was open to good ideas, and you could see in his eyes that he knows 1) Trump will never have a good idea and 2) Trump is the only person who doesn't know that.

When he was in the Senate, his conduct was much more more Machiavellian, though he was always pretty much an Honor Guy and not known as a guy who could easily be bribed.

No single person can win the narcissist game w/DJT ever, because there are just far too many groups always happening, and the possibility of someone defecting away from what's the best result for everyone tips the game until there's no chance of anyone standing firm against him. An instant loss.
