Hello @georgetakei.bsky.social. I host/produce a podcast about the public library. Would you be willing to speak with me briefly about your graphic novel _They Called Us Enemy_? It would be an honor to record a short segment on your thoughts about your compelling memoir for _We LOVE the Library_.

The San Luis Obispo County library system has the largest physical collection of films-documentaries-tv shows of any library system in the state of California. So great!!
“As prices for streaming subscriptions continue to soar and finding movies to watch, new and old, is becoming harder as the number of streaming services continues to grow, people are turning to the unexpected last stronghold of physical media: the public library.”
The Last Video Rental Store Is Your Public Library
Audio-visual librarians are quietly amassing large physical media collections amid the IP disputes threatening select availability.

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson has proposed disastrous cuts to our city's libraries while setting aside $5M for a ShotSpotter replacement. As library associate Sara Heymann told me, “Libraries embody everything we need to fight back against fascism.” My piece on what’s at stake and how to fight back:
You Can’t Fight Fascism While Defunding Libraries

The public library is an "imagination portal" whereby library card holders can access information and materials to help pursue their own imaginative explorations via creative work as well as tap into the rich imaginative worlds created by others. Do you have a library card and do you use it?
