#tdih 1967, Julian Bond was finally sworn in as a member of Georgia House of Reps -- after a two year battle to claim his ELECTED seat.

In 1965, House had refused to seat Bond because of his statements (on behalf of SNCC) in opposition to Vietnam War. ⬇️ 🧵

While fighting for his elected seat, Julian Bond wrote a comic book (graphic history) about the Vietnam War that made connection between struggles of the Vietnamese and of African Americans for self-determination and human rights.
