Which is a huge problem imo, on top of making zero sense.

-of proship and refers to people who believe that problematic fiction (whatever that means to them) is harmful and shouldn’t exist. This sort of behavior often results in harassment campaigns against random artists.

I have a detailed resource abt this topic if you’re curious but it’s a long read x)

Things like incest, noncon, NSFW feral, loli/cub are themes that are considered problematic as an example, although that list has gotten a lot longer in the last few years to also include much tamer kinks (as well as kinks that are harmless irl) .

On the other hand, ‘Antiship/fic’ is the opposite-

Originally that term only referred to shipping but it has now been extended to fiction as a whole (which is why people often use the term pro-fic and pro-kink instead).

But basically: being proship/fic means you believe people shouldn’t be harassed for creating/engaging with ´problematic’ fiction.

True. As someone born in the 2000's, the only reason I know about Stonewall is because I randomly decided to watch a documentary about the history of queer rights when I was 14. It's things like this that makes me glad the internet exists, sharing this knowledge is a lot easier now.

-people who ''give the fandom a bad name'' (so usually kinkster and ppl who draw feral porn or whatever thing puriteens hate rn) they'll get the approval of normies.

So basically: we need to teach young furs about the history of the fandom so they don't get these wrong assumptions about it.

Teens who grow up in that fandom should (ideally) never directly engage with NSFW content, which makes a lot of them wrongly believe that the fandom is majoritaly not sexual.
And since we are constantly targeted by accusations of zoophilia and 'hypersexuality', these teens think that by rejecting-

Lol it does sound dumb.
A lot of people with this mentality are teens who are often unaware of the fandom's history, and therefore view it as 'a fandom for people who like cartoon animal that was infiltrated by kinksters', instead of the very kink-centered sex-positive community it has always been.

Queer artists are now at much higher risk of being censored and lose an important source of income, which could put their livelihood at risk in the worst cases.
But hey, at least now we finally have some guidelines to protect the feelings of characters that do not exist !
Yay!

In a world where queerness is viewed by many as inherently obscene, any attack on sexual content will also affect queer people (among others).
If you don’t believe me or think I’m exaggerating: just look at what’s happening with Steam, Itch Io, Paypal/Stripe, Patreon and even Bluesky now…

I’d love it if someone could tell me what about my noncon/feral/incest/etc kink art is so harmful, that the censorship of queer expression sounds (to you) like a fair price to pay to get people like me deplatformed ?
Because you can’t get rid of one without the other.

«Problematic fiction will encourage people to commit crimes ! »
«We need to ban kink to protect the children ! »
«People who like *insert kink* art are all groomers/degenerates ! »
«We should bring back bullying»
«Kill all proshippers ! »

Do you fucking hear yourself ?
