I’ve focused a lot this year on how to assess student progress towards a standard & track that data for better conversations with Ss. Here is a current iteration of the work. Thanks @mrrablin.bsky.social for sharing your progressions which got me started on this idea. #iteachEnglish #EduSky

How many times did I get asked “Is there a movie?” while reading Refugee? So you know I had to make this an option as a culminating project! Let the movie trailers using Canva start rolling in!🍿 @mrnunesteach.bsky.social

The “easy” kids are the ones who you know going in will need a whole lot, or very little. It’s the ones in the middle that take more time to find that sweet spot. Below are just some of the tools I made, students used, and the different ways students demonstrated understanding. It’s been a doozy!

#1 My grading philosophy that I try to communicate to Ss is that grading reflects understanding at a point in time. I’m still working on my progression charts for each standard and am open to advice. I show this to students and conference time is used to observe, note and reflect. #ungradingchat
