I swear I have another box full of cables around here somewhere. I need another empty box anyway for full-size type-B cables. But this is a huge improvement.

Just look at this absolute beast. 150mm x 50mm, almost 260CFM. 1.8A@12V. This thing rips.

My 6-pin SOT test socket breakout boards turned out great. The pin number text is a bit obscured on the SOT-23 board, but I can live with it. Huge improvement over the original garbage they came with. I'm calling this one a win.

So, here's my version. 0.6" spacing, MUCH simpler pinout with full labeling, and I've listed all of the various manufacturer package aliases on each for easy reference.

To make matters worse, even with all of that empty PCB space, they didn't label the damn thing at all. Well... there's an arrow with a "1" next to it. That only tells you how to orient the chip. No labeling of the DIP pins whatsoever.

So close to finishing up this electrical service upgrade. Can't wait to be rid of the old death trap that is the original 100 year-old fuse box...

Update: the main problem of being able to over-tighten the cap seems to actually be a flaw with the included bottle. I found an old bottle with a compatible thread and it actually tightens down properly. Still a bit fiddly, but MUCH better. Just needs a label on the bottle...

Recently remembered these from an old foone thread and decided to give it a try. Great idea, absolute trash execution. There's no hard stop on the threads, if you turn it too far, it will "click over" and turn off, you have to manually stop at just the right spot.

Using @Captnshacky's fantastic SNES shell model to do a quick fit check, and it's tight, but I think it just baaaarely fits. Time to send off the gerbers :D

I just dropped an SC-70 MOSFET (slightly smaller than a SOT23) onto this carpet AND I FOUND IT. So, I'm feeling pretty good right now 😁

Super handy reference from @onsemi for disambiguating between these easily confused packages and their many aliases.

Maybe try searching around through their "super deals" page and see if the better price comes up that way. It definitely is (or at least was) there.

New project: re-spooling all of these crimp terminals onto more reasonably sized spools. The orange one took 10 hours to print and holds 1,000 crimp terminals. I have... a bit of work ahead of me 😱
