When I got the contract to write a history of concentration camps in 2014, I hoped to keep the US from ending up here. That didn't work out! But now it's critical to understand how much is already in process and the enormity of what's coming. The sooner we act to stop it, the more people we'll save.

NEW: A federal immigration judge ruled that there was no lawful basis for our client, Rümeysa Öztürk, to be deported.

This is promising news, but her case is still ongoing in federal court. We’ll keep fighting until she's free for good.

NEW: Two weeks ago, the FBI conducted an unprecedented raid of Fulton County’s central election hub to acquire 2020 election records.

Now, the county said in newly unsealed court filings that the search was "designed to intimidate" voters and may have violated numerous constitutional rights.
