Apparently I am a used bookstore's worth of reviews and the odd technical comment.
May occasionally behave like a Cookie Monster.
"All solutions are easy when you don't understand the problem."
In terms of a hero that has to think fast, get creative, and is always seconds away from death dealing with incredibly f'd up s***?

Teens that have to constantly save the world eventually become adults...and then what happens?
JCH answers that question beautifully in this pitch perfect story that smoothly mixes clever asides and on-the-nose nods to the genre with 'yeah but in the _real_ world' twists that absolutely sell it.

Can recommend. The 3rd book is a bit slower to start but wraps up everything in a really satisfying way, paying off plot points from the Orconomics.

Any time I hear "how hard could it be?" I immediately drop an X thusly:

[X] Doesn't know WTF they're talking about.

Because the question is: _how_ is this going to be hard?

Real engineers know that it's always more work than you expect, and if it's not odds are you've missed something.

My IRL Tetris is thanksgiving leftovers in the fridge.
First time I pulled that trick it was like:

Wife: that's not gonna fit in there.
Me: oh it can and it will.

Nowadays it's like:
Wife: kids, let your dad figure it out. ;)

+1 for Badlands. It had some neat twists and at least one interesting, unexpected nod to the original Predator, but definitely stands well on its own.

The smooth pacing of SS' plot is driven by the MC navigating solid plot twists while trying to survive long enough to figure out what is going on with a particularly cursed item.
It is a quick read and has a light tone for its darker moments, making it good fun for fans of 80’s horror/comedy.

I believe it's :
Never get involved in a land war in Asia.
Never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line.
...and never make your own pie crust.
There are exceptions, but they're rare.
