I’d heard that about Bellevue yesterday, too.

Lentz being high should be good for Dems!

We get daily updates from trained poll workers in CD7. We have electronic ballot counting and paper records, backed by separate voter and ballot counters. Our long time staff at the election commission is nonpartisan, professional, responsive, and quick. I feel strongly we can trust their work.

Love seeing her with her sticker!

Y’all do as CM Cash has done - bring those adultish kids with you so they can vote, too!

She almost certainly knows the reference.

She also happens to continually advocate for a downtown circulator.

In her defense, I think those words were meant to be spoken without the context of what I was asking for, and I do believe we can work together.

But…I do think we should keep pushing to work TOGETHER more and for a more humane and responsive system.

First thought: “Did he put it in the HUB?”

(If not, where is it and I will.)

It’s been very difficult to get any real answer here. There is a number estimate for a fair pause, which is roughly 3x fare collection & doesn’t include the savings (as it wouldn’t last). It’s also not clear to me the actual basis for that estimated $$, & it’s hard to extrapolate free fare from it.

I hear the way that “cool” is said in my head…

Same, friend, same. I sent the kids out with a load and they came back with the same load and were like “well umm it’s full…what now”. 😱

The master gardeners and native planting experts in my neighborhood swear by that tool.

You can thank me when we make progress. Until then, we all deserve to be taken to task!

(But also take that vacation seriously if you can - you deserve it.)

In addition to pushing directly my for action by WeGo in this acute crisis, I’ll be following up on longterm action items council can take in the coming days & weeks. How we respond in crisis directly reflects our values & abilities. It should not be so hard to do the right thing when tested. /end

But also, I sat a a vice chair for a while on a Board. Metro legal was very clear that I had zero say on calling a meeting or on what would be on the agenda. Metro legal takes a very conservative view of what members can do & IMO this leads to an unnecessary kneecapping of board members.

I think the bigger scandal is whether the staff is acting w/o communicating w/ Board. I’d sure like to know what the Board knows & what it wanted to do. This is why I copied the Board on my latest correspondence with WeGo. It’s also why I’m putting together resources for how to feet to the fire.

Answered on your other thread (for those following here): bsky.app/profile/quin...
Power is quite different from ability. They have to comply with public meeting rules. They have to notice things and reserve space. They have to (often) coordinate with metro legal and IT. So when a staff really doesn’t want something, the authority’s chair has very little actual, practical power.
