All around me I see apartments being built but none of them are the kind of housing that families want and need. They are all built for roommates. Two large bedrooms, each with an en-suite bath. What we need to acknowledge is that we need to go back to real social housing that works for families.

I think that those are green shoots and that if they are green chutes, well I'm not sure what that means.

It's become so wrong in some circles to admit that you love long drives and road trips. I don't know how I would have made it through some parts of my life without them.

Newer houses are expensive because building expensive houses is more profitable than building modest houses as well as the fact that salaries have not caught up with the price of building. And we haven't even mentioned that the construction industry depends heavily on immigrant labor.

I'm a feminist woman but I have to agree that running a female candidate is a very bad idea in 2028. The unfortunate reality is that there are a lot of people out there who will not vote for a woman as president and right now the Dems need to make sure to find someone with the widest appeal.

The problem for middle class folks is that the things they must have to live a relatively prosperous life are the ones that are least elastic. Most of us can live another year without a new couch or a new car but if we don't pay our house insurance or mortgage, we are out on the street.
