Just finished the first block of the 2026 Sweet Potato BOM Party. Totally changed it up using only 1 solid fabric and 4 prints. I have a collection of Tula Pink fabric, and I decided it was time to start using it. What do you guys think? #2026BOMParty #2026BOM #skyquilt #quiltsky #quilts

So I really wanted to do a Block of Month for this year. I originally joined another program, but had no interest in starting the quilt. Not a good way to start.

Along came an email from Sweet Potato Quilts and I joined her 2026 BOM Party instead. quiltclub.sweetpotatoquilts.com/bomparty2026

Last year I made a Colour of the Month block each month based on the Kona 365 calendar. Today I put the quilt top together. It really needed a border and I'm not sure my choice was the best, but I'm not getting out the seam ripper. What do you think? Last project of 2025!

It's a new year. It's a great time to take stock in your current projects or WIPS.

Have you set any quilting goals for this year? I did. I plan to make a quilt that has an on point setting as well as a lone star quilt. This has terrified me for a long time.

Comment and let me know your plans.

In addition to making quilts, I also write a blog on quilting. Here is a recent article about Beginner Quilting Terminology.

When you're just getting started, the terms can be confusing. Click to read. Enjoy!

I completed my #chaoswithatwist quilt top yesterday and I'm happy it's done. I have no idea how I'm going to quilt it, so it will stay on the wall for a bit. It's a big quilt at 80" square. Check out @libselliott.com. #quiltsky #skyquilt #quilts

Last year I made an effort to pull out my WIPS (works in progress) and made progress on them. This is one of the tops I completed. For those of you that don't know, this is a One Block Wonder quilt. #quiltsky #skyquilt #quilts #oneblockwonder

My favourite finish in 2025. This was a long forgotten WIP from around 2016. It is far from perfect, but it's pretty. It looks harder than it is.
