I left a comfy job at Google to build an indie web browser, turn it into a sustainable business, and name it after my favorite pie. (As if that wasn’t already hard enough.)

One week since #LiquidGlass landed, and only one third-party iOS browser has fully adopted it 😇

I worked all summer to make Quiche Browser feel right at home on #iOS26. Surprising to see bigger teams so slow on such a major design update.

People really do notice when apps look outdated.

i simply cannot sing the praises of Quiche enough. It is so damn customizable and really feels like the best iteration of a WebKit browser can be.
Quiche Browser is now updated for iOS 26 with a beautiful, floating Liquid Glass toolbar!

If you like Safari’s new toolbar but wish you could pick and place the buttons you need most, now might be the time to switch.

And if you miss the look of Safari iOS 18, you can switch to the Classic theme!

Back to using Quiche, it felt just a bit too flat before and the simple material switch really does it for me. It’s so good and so fun and fast to tweak, can’t praise it enough

If you’re using Quiche Browser on iOS 18 or earlier, please update to version 1.64.5 immediately:

apps.apple.com/us/app/quich...

Because of a careless coding mistake I introduced in 1.64.4, the app was crashing badly. The new release fixes this issue.

My deepest apologies for the disruption 🙇‍♂️

Look Mom, I’m on WIRED!

So so so happy to be quoted about Liquid Glass, dropping a Dieter Rams principle as if I were an actual designer 😅

#LiquidGlass is coming to Quiche Browser on Monday!

Safari’s new toolbar on #iOS26 is nice… but what if you could choose and place every button, or hide it completely for full-screen browsing?

That’s the kind of minimalist-oriented customization Quiche Browser has been built around since day one.

Nice weekend surprise: Quiche Browser got featured a second time in this week’s issue of The Verge’s Installer newsletter!

I don't know @paulusschoutsen.nl, but turns out it was his last browser before moving to Android 🥲

Today feels like the right day to remind everyone what Quiche Browser stands for.

The Glass effects might not be for everyone, but can we all agree the Liquid animations are gorgeous?

Things are starting to shape up for Quiche Browser on iOS 26!

The redesigned Tabs settings screen will let you switch between the Liquid Glass and Classic themes in just one tap.

(Warning: may make you hungry for actual quiche.)

...And don’t worry if you’re not a fan of Liquid Glass!
The current toolbar theme will still be available on iOS 26.

It’s called “Classic” and looks just like Quiche Browser on iOS 18, but with fully rounded corners to match the design language of iOS 26.

Finally able to share a first look at Quiche Browser on iOS 26 with the new Liquid Glass theme.

No TestFlight yet, but I’m pushing to be ready for day one 💪

For all you naughty kids already on iOS 26 beta, you might want to update Quiche Browser from the App Store right now.

It won’t enable Liquid Glass (yet), but it does fix the most annoying bug. You guessed which one 😅

Thanks so much Ross for featuring Quiche Browser!

I've discovered some great little indie iOS (and sometimes Android!) apps recently. I wanted to quickly jot down some links to some of them, and links to the places that I found them - usually interesting newsletters.

New in Quiche Browser: tab multi-select!
For all you tab hoarders, you can finally close multiple tabs at once.

You can also copy all their links to move them somewhere else. And of course, the two-finger gesture works for quick selection.

Also new in Quiche Browser this week:

• For the first time since launch, I’ve removed a feature! Status bar tinting is now always on. Simpler color options!

• The tab overview menu got rearranged a bit to make space for future sorting and grouping options🤐

New Quiche Browser update: when grouping tabs by website, you can now close all tabs from the same website at once.

Might be the only browser that lets you do this.
Small feature, but quite handy for tab hoarders like me!

Quiche Browser is the only indie app in Lifehacker’s list of best iPhone browsers (that aren’t Safari), and named best for customization.

But they also say it’s not “feature-rich” because it lacks an AI bot or a VPN… kind of the whole point of a lightweight browser. 🤷‍♂️

Early alpha of Quiche Browser running on iOS 26.

Web pages will stretch all the way to the top of the screen, with a smooth progressive blur behind the status bar.

Liquid Glass or not, Quiche Browser will stay minimal and immersive.

Quiche Browser will adopt Liquid Glass on day one when iOS 26 lands this fall.

Codename: “Liquid Quiche with Glass Shards.”

However, it will be adopted very carefully. Quiche Browser has always aimed for a discreet UI that highlights the web page, not distracts from it.

In just a week, Apple is rumored to unveil a radically new glassy look for iOS/macOS.

Will Quiche Browser need to go full glassy to avoid looking outdated?

Should I keep polishing the app on iPhone/iPad, or go all in building a glassy Mac version?
