A look back to Nov 1975! The City Savings and Loan building at Queens Blvd & 66th Rd in Rego Park, Queens.

The entire block, including the old Trylon Theater, was demolished in 2022 for the new Trylon Tower. 🏗️

Just weeks 'til the NYC Marathon! 🏃‍♀️ Runners cross the Verrazzano Bridge.

This 1933 map from #QPLarchives shows early plans for the S.I.-Brooklyn crossing. The Verrazzano, which opened in 1964, became the world's longest suspension bridge.

This 1935 September issue of Queensborough Magazine shows the plan for Queens Plaza & the future Queens-Midtown Tunnel in Long Island City, which opened in 1940. St. Mary's Church on Vernon Boulevard is one of the tallest structures shown. 🏙️
