It's awful that it took nearly 18 months to get a budget that if you strain really hard to look at, seems like a Labour budget, and even then it's mostly a rich person's banquet with scraps for the poor. The two child benefit cap should have been lifted on day one, but I'm glad it's happened.

Yikes, hope there's plenty of breaks

Study skips over selection/volunteer bias, as unlikely to affect the trends. This really ignores cultural and societal influences on who is studied and why they present for this type of study. To me, that's a pretty huge flaw, but everything here is engagement bait so....

There's been repeatedly reported bugs not fixed since they launched in the UK. A former engineer told me the rush to launch created a lot of tech debt, and the merger/cuts will push features over fixes to reach consistent profitability...
It's a wider tech industry problem to be fair

Close, that show is entirely CGI though

Label everything a business expense 😁 (not financial advice 😬)

Feels like the time is perfect for a show in an ideal future, a peacekeeping force who's primary weapons are diplomacy and knowledge. With a small diverse crew who's desire to learn and grow drives every episode. Large writing/creative budget and small CGI budget. Something to rekindle our hope

I loved the old model ship shots, the ship felt like a character in the show, the captains log as ideal exposition playing in the background. It felt like those opening shots of barely a minute, added 20mins to the episode for all the context it added. I miss it

There's a profitability problem too, new features become less profitable and present higher costs as time goes by. The ratio flips and companies that don't plan for it end up driving features without use cases or market targets.
Making a new product is often a work around that marketing prefers.

I want to be hopeful, there's been so many false starts over the decades. I hope they retcon Dr Fraiser back in, everyone wants to know what happened to Cassandra and having Kate Mulgrew as a General Hammond type leader would be amazing. My expectations are already over the top... Maybe I am hopeful

We know he owns a bonesaw....

It was horrifying seeing a man who is horrendously corrupt, hates women, murders people and spends public money on gawdy vanity projects.... sitting next to MBS, who also has the same problems but at least can control his bowels

Flaccid can still be fun, although I'm curious what the opposite of a flaccid narrative would be..... I feel like I'd need to prepare for it in ways I wouldn't for a flaccid narrative
