If they think they will simply scare everyone into silence, they are delusional. ICEholes are dumb, out-of-shape losers who run away from people in pajamas with whistles, and they are being led by clueless, deranged muppets who can't get a grand jury to indict a ham sandwich.

I meant to say DO NOT CEDE. Apologies for the error.
December 9, 2025 at 8:14 PM
With respect, I think you may be missing the point of what I'm trying to say. The power of SCOTUS, given their lack of enforcement means, rests on widespread public confidence in the legitimacy and wisdom of their opinions. That confidence is deteriorating fast.

💯💪

They alone have no enforcement power. Several lower level judges appear to have stopped recognizing the SCOTUS as legitimate. Everyone else should do the same.

Or rather, Cankles the Hutt may try to declare it illegal, but that alone does not make it so. Do cede to him power that he doesn't have.

It still is a right, even if Bonespurs and co. don't respect it. The constitution is the TRUE law always, and everyone needs to act accordingly.

I think there should be a No Kings-scale mobilization on the first Saturday of every month.
December 7, 2025 at 3:59 AM
I was given to understand that there was some sort of split, not on the actual constitutionality of the order itself, but on some technical difference in the rulings from specific judges.
December 6, 2025 at 9:10 PM
Awesome! After this, there should be another No Kings event on the first Saturday of every month. It's bad optics to let too much time pass between large-scale mobilizations, as it gives the impression that people are checked out. Regular events will make resistance more culturally embedded.

How do you determine that they already have four votes?
December 6, 2025 at 4:56 PM
Important caveat is that the Insurrection Act =/= martial law. AFAIK the US has no exact equivalent to martial law. Conflating the two conditions people to comply in advance.
November 27, 2025 at 2:29 AM
I agree that it is a horrible tragedy, but calling it a terrorist attack before we know anything regarding a motive is dangerously misleading.
November 27, 2025 at 2:19 AM
Institutional resistance remains weak, to be sure, but among the Senate Dems, there seems to be a rebellion brewing to replace Schumer with someone that has a spine.
November 27, 2025 at 1:49 AM
Excellent work, although one part that I disagree with is that the public has become desensitized and institutional resistance has totally stopped. That is Dump's goal, sure, but the general public seems to be fighting back broadly and creatively.
November 27, 2025 at 1:49 AM
Thank you! Don't preemptively ascribe to him powers that he doesn't actually have! That is a form of complying in advance! Also, I'm going to reiterate this: The Insurrection Act is NOT equivalent to martial law, and does not make Dump all-powerful! We don't have to let him reshape reality!

What do you mean by Jameserson Workshopperbatch? I've never seen that portmanteau before.
November 24, 2025 at 8:14 PM
I agree with you there. It seems more likely that was just the number of students at the protest that the people from the student newspaper bothered to talk to.
November 24, 2025 at 6:51 PM
Instead of talking gen z with generalized condescension, which this piece is guilty of doing to some extent, it would be more constructive to point to the ones acting most admirably and hold them up as examples for their peers.
November 24, 2025 at 6:48 PM
In order to get a full picture of youth involvement, you have to look beyond just a handfull of accounts of attendance at No Kings events.
November 24, 2025 at 6:48 PM
Second, it selectively ignores important examples of major engagement among young people, like this: www.commondreams.org/news/us-camp... or this: bsky.app/profile/5050...

As much as I think Brendan does good work in general, there are some problems with that piece. First off, I would hardly call public response to Trump 2.0 tepid. The protests this year alone have far eclipsed anything from the first ordeal.
