Anyway, never judge a book by its cover - only time will tell

But the takeaway - think about why people are looking for the thing you made

The tools we use matter - it’s nice to find a project that feels like it’s meeting me where I’m at

Then I checked out Zola and it’s a breath of fresh air.

- simple, to the point

- assumes the reader knows what an ssg is and is making an informed choice

- quickstart docs use precise language and feed you information in the order you need it

I think they’re all fine projects that would get the job done.

But as I said, I’m in Goldilocks mode over here

Anyway this is what I gleaned from their home pages

Pelican & Nikola - these are ssgs and have the features ssgs have

Hugo - is 1. fast and 2. popular and 3. actively developed

11ty - affirms your identity as a web dev

Tbh I’d rather not set it up myself - but I don’t trust platforms

I don’t even particularly want to write - I’d prefer to communicate by beaming ideas into the ether
