On Monday, QAC students participated in an online Q&A as part of the “Learn with the Lords” programme, connecting with a Baroness from the House of Lords.

Baroness Shah discussed the role and work of the House of Lords, followed by an opportunity for our students to ask questions.

On January 20th, students attended a World Religion Day workshop. Rev Jo Jennings from St John’s church in Harborne discussed various beliefs and why people follow different religions, focusing on Christianity and its core beliefs.

On Monday, we marked World Braille Day at QAC. Led by our in-house Braille tutor, students learned about the story of Louis Braille from students who use Braille daily.

The groups had the chance to try their hand at reading and writing Braille, making it an engaging and educational experience.

Before Christmas break, LEAP Sport students had an unforgettable day at Birmingham City Ground. They enjoyed a behind-the-scenes tour with Paul H, learning about football club operations, history, logistics, and potential work placements. An inspiring experience they won’t forget!

Our LEAP and Preparation for Life students have successfully run two amazing Christmas Fayres over the past few days!

Vocational Health and Social Care and LEAP Care students participated in a Dementia Friends session led by Terry from Home Instead.

The session provided students with an insight into dementia and how to support someone living with the condition.

Step Up Blue students had a fantastic day at West Brom Market, proudly selling their handmade items at their own stall. They showed great teamwork, responsibility, and built confidence, communication, and money-handling skills. We’re extremely proud of them!

To kick off the final week of term, our students were visited by Arty Fact, who showcased “A Christmas Wish” as this year's Christmas Panto.
The performance featured festive tales inspired by Hans Christian Andersen stories.
The students sang, laughed and joined in the fun throughout the morning!
