Cheating a bit for this “art year” post because my last full-body art of Ava was a year and a half ago...
It’s hard to find time for art these days, so it’s not much, but I’m proud of what I have accomplished.

Been playing Nier Automata for the first time (courtesy of my family’s Christmas gifts of eShop money), and my wife was very excited to see the mackerel ending. Reminds me what I love about games.

My friend is writing a story, so I offered to draw some quick concepts of his characters. Given that I only had a few hours to draw, I’m pretty proud of how they turned out!

After drawing 5-6 expressions, I redrew Ava’s “base” expression. It’s small, but still validating to see improvements — especially after relatively little practice!

Art Fight was fun! I learned a lot and saw some really cool OCs. I was also lucky to get revenges — which was awesome.
It was also difficult. It feels hard to get noticed, and I’m not sure why. Even so, I want to keep trying to share my story and help others share theirs, too.

I like this hairstyle for Ava!
I probably won’t finish this: it feels flat, and I think I’d improve more by figuring out why and then starting fresh. I think it’s the perspective of the eyes and lack of exaggeration (going for a more animated style), but I’m open to feedback!
