yes and no :) it's handy to use a db provided and managed by the cloud vendor but there is room for all other dbs, SaaS products etc. For example, Neon, CockroachDB, MongoDB Atlas and many others, they are also there (i.e. deployable to AWS, Azure, GCP). We don't have to limit our options ;)

I don't know that ;) but there is something in it, hype died. In terms of the db marker and overall options out there, it's so vibrant place now, more and more interesting projects. Mongo is trying to stay in the game.

sure, there is nothing wrong with it. When used in the right place can do the job.
