I'm not sure that'd be safe, or if that'd be a "dump it out ASAP" thing. Normal one would get dumped, as far as i'm concerned.
It'd be more fun to find a "The old one we kept 'cause it still ran good, and was convenient for special jobs." kind of ship.

As long as what does what can be somewhat figured out, and input devices are somewhat compatible...

In that kind of context, what comes up often for me is the idea of coming up on some kind of ship that's not the long lost flagship of $_SUPERPOWER, but instead is just an older freighter or some common ship, that just happens to be just in that sweet spot to bridge tech levels for other species.

One dumb thing i've noticed with my XR is that the forehead pad seems to interfere with expressions a lot.
Also, i wonder if some of the troubles might be due to a lot essentially just using the QPro software for it, and things being still tuned for the QPro value scaling and not the GXR yet.

This reminds me of when i made an « official » media streaming server for the hockey games inside our stores when i was doing retail IT.
Suddenly we stopped having internet connection issues and a lot less malware.
And also, productivity went up since nobody was hiding to watch the game anymore.

I wouldn't really put it as "the trash" tho, they're valid things for other creatures to want.
And yeah, that kinda tracks with the whole "human" experience for me so far, so much of it centers around sex as the end goal, just with a lot of wrapping and layers around it.
