If Mari dies, because of the fact she looks like her daughters, Inko would start wearing a fox mask around Sunny to prevent any relapses or panic attacks.
December 13, 2025 at 4:15 AM
If Mari survives (obviously), then she’ll get Mari and Sunny to open up about their issues, though this is actually what would prevent the accident in the first place.
December 13, 2025 at 4:15 AM
-WHAT IFS-

If Mari does die and/or the accident does happen...SOME-FUCKING-HOW, Inko would be able to help and make it clear that it was indeed an accident.
December 13, 2025 at 4:15 AM
He's able to step outside of his older sisters' shadows and show just how capable and talented he is. Inko lets Sunny go at his own pace and reminds him that she's always here to help when he needs it. Inko provides Sunny a boost in his self-esteem and stability.

Sunny

Sunny, like Erika, would be very happy to have a parent that genuinely cares about him. His insecurities are heard and his confidence is boosted by Inko's advice and comfort, which helps him show that he's more than just the younger brother of Mari and Erika.

belongsinthetrash (con't): And being met with her real mother who unwaveringly admits that she was a yakuza brute and far from a great person, it would cause her to rethink how much she had put pressure/been pressured on herself to be flawless when her mother failed to do that herself.
December 13, 2025 at 4:14 AM
belongsinthetrash's thoughts: I think Mari would be similarly happy about Inko too, ngl. The only internal conflict I could see from her is probably something along the lines of she tried so hard to be idyllic and just perfect enough for what she had wanted (or what her foster parents wanted) to be.
December 13, 2025 at 4:14 AM
Tea (con't): But secretly, I think she’d really admire Inko and ultimately yearned for a figure like her, who allows Mari to feel comfortable in her own skin.
December 13, 2025 at 4:14 AM
Mari (major thanks to manleytea and belongsinthetrash on Tumblr for this)

manleytea's thoughts: I feel like Mari would be a bit reserved and distant about Inko on the outside, only really showing her courtesy but not acting super close with her.
December 13, 2025 at 4:14 AM
She would feel much more relieved to have a person she can actually have a civil talk with without either being disregarded, undermined, or plain argued with because she is younger than the person she rubs wrong on.
December 13, 2025 at 4:10 AM
She would also be refreshed to have a parent who doesn't look down on her for her punk/tomboyish nature, nor her emotional indignation when she recognizes something wrong about how her or her loved ones are treated.
December 13, 2025 at 4:10 AM
As someone who's only known neglect all her life, having a parental figure that genuinely cares about her and her siblings means EVERYTHING to Erika. So of course, she'd be thrilled and overjoyed to have a parent that genuinely loves her.
December 13, 2025 at 4:10 AM
-RELATIONSHIPS-

Erika

Erika would be heavily influenced by Inko’s past rebellious behavior and while Inko’s not a fan of it, as she doesn't want Erika to have a life of crime like herself, she would be proud that Erika is doing it for the sake of her siblings.
December 13, 2025 at 4:10 AM
She feels like she could do more for her kids. Due to not being physically present in their lives, Inko feels like she's emotionally distant and doesn't know how to care for them. She feels like she doesn't have the capabilities to be a nurturing, loving, and protective mother for her kids.
December 13, 2025 at 4:09 AM
She feels guilty for her time and actions while in the yakuza and is angry over the fact she never had a choice in the matter of living that kind of life. She doesn't wish that life on anyone, which is why she made sure to keep her kids safe from it as much as possible by turning herself in.
December 13, 2025 at 4:09 AM
However, if she believes her children are threatened or have been harmed, then she WILL retaliate. This again extends to her children's friends and loved ones. If she believes that it's the only option...and if she can get away with it, she might use violence against the perpetrator(s).
December 13, 2025 at 4:09 AM
-PERSONALITY-

If Erika can be described as the Tomboy version of the "Cool Big Sister" trope, then Inko's an example of the "Mama Bear" trope. Inko loves her children and only wants them to have a safe and healthy life; a life she never got. This extends to her children's friends and loved ones.
December 13, 2025 at 4:09 AM
They won't move out of town, as Inko is WELL AWARE of how attached her kids are to Faraway, but Inko would likely take her kids to the house she bought nearby. This also gives her a chance to meet her kids' friends and Erika's significant other, which (by proxy) also improves their home environment.
December 13, 2025 at 4:08 AM
Either way, Inko WILL start taking up action and be her children’s parental figure as she always wants, unable to trust her brother and sister-in-law anymore.
December 13, 2025 at 4:08 AM
Inko would be able to help and try to prevent that from happening in the first place, especially if she gave her true identity away.

She probably would anyway after noticing how her brother and sister-in-law's been treating her children.
December 13, 2025 at 4:08 AM
She is under the guise of being the kids’ aunt, but she’s happy that her children are happy and healthy.

That’s all that matters to her.

I HIGHLY DOUBT Mari would die and the accident would happen at all here.
December 13, 2025 at 4:08 AM
After several years, as if her prayers were answered or fate smiled upon her, Inko is released from prison and allowed to see her children, getting a job in the USA as a freelance voice-actress and singer.
December 13, 2025 at 4:08 AM
They agreed and thus, the three children ended up in the care of her brother and sister-in-law (the in-game parents).
December 13, 2025 at 4:08 AM
Therefore, she made a deal with the police and attorneys: She would turn herself in if she was allowed to choose the people who would raise her children, so that they are not involved with her life of crime.
