I'd love to make a sassy comment about late-stage capitalism, but this is so clearly a pricing fuckup that it's comical. I won't be cashing inna raincheque on this one, Sobeys 🤣

Didn't Meta recently put together a comp package valued at over $1B for a single AI researcher?

This shit really is a speculative bubble, isn't it.

Well, the public markets in the US don't seem too concerned about the government shutdown. After hours trading last night had the S&P trending up, this morning had a minor blip.

Seems a bit odd to me that the markets have been on a tear this year when there's so much crazy happening.

Not bad for a few hours of "boring" optimization work on a Saturday morning. And it's WordPress running on a cheap shared hosting environment, to boot 😁 #buildinpublic

I'm slightly impressed that ChatGPT knew what a cobra chicken is. I expected a chicken with a cobra coiled up on its butt. Clearly Canadian culture is at least meme worthy. #canadasky

Well, the autocorrect suggestions this morning are delightfully unhinged. Not quite sure what "pee-determined" is, but I bet there's a significant amount of satisfaction to be had afterwards.

Brilliant. One less toxic campaign manager driving a wedge between Canadians and making their client look like . #cdnpoli

As someone who plays PC games, what I hate about 'em is that they assume the user will be within arm's length of the screen. This is how I play PC games. Good UI scaling and font sizes often determine if I return a game or not. Let's learn from consoles, even if that business model is lame. #gamedev

💯. If it ever comes under serious threat, we need to organize and fight like fuck to resist. The arms-length commissions are an important bulwark of free and fair elections. No riding should look like this (MD, USA). Democrats are just as guilty as Republicans. Aggressively non-partisan is critical.

Here we go again. I wonder which insiders will appear in the White House to brag about how much money they made on "contrarian" trades this time?
August 1, 2025 at 1:31 PM
It's mindboggling to me that "victory" means taxing American businesses and consumers for the material inputs and goods that they consume, ultimately driving up the price of everything in the process. Maybe I'm old-fashioned or something, but making life harder for folks doesn't seem like a win.

Like, seriously great camo. A bird at a hundred feet isn't going to clock 'em for sure. I guess that's the point.

OK, it's been fun hanging out and all but there's no lunch up here for the cicada (aka, trees don't grow on my balcony). Relocated down to the park across the street. Great camo, little bud.

Had a Dog Day Cicada join me in my (balcony) office today. Cute little thing. From what I read, though they might seem big and intimidating for a bug, they're beneficial to have around. Eat smaller pest insects, and feed on mature tree sap in a non-destructive way. #remotework #summer #nature
