For me it's about themes, emotions and, increasingly, a sort of meta lens i.e. appreciating a film for the craft itself. This can sometimes clash with others who care more about what is literally happening

Maybe we're using different definitions, I just often find that general audiences care more about plot than I do, about it making immediate logical sense and being satisfying. this ties into entertainment tbf
