The Pin is mightier than the sword
@putdorianedown.bsky.social
Endurance racing, Formula E, feeder series. Occasionally F1. Doriane Pin fan account. Statistician by day, sometimes it shows up here too.
Ferrari's financial statements are, sadly, almost completely opaque in this regard.

$1.26bn. All of this is in their annual results.

Wrong.

Can't imagine why anyone would...oh right

I'm beginning to think this search assist may not know wheel. Or how to count. (It followed up by suggesting 2020, on the grounds that Nicholas Latifi had British heritage which is....well he's not as British as Alex Albon is, at any rate.)

SAM BIRD ON COMMENTARY (I think). He's pretty good at it as far as we can tell from his occasional forays into F1 comms on BBC Radio. Looking forward to the season a bit more now, hopefully he's on in Sao Paolo. Also good to see Albert Lau, who seems to have the Bernie Collins brief.

The real surprise for me here is why do I say "three" so often?(Also a bit surprised by "race" which I don't feel I say that much but apparently). I do talk about F3 a decent amount but I thought I called it F3. "Mean" is a verbal tick - need to train myself out of starting sentences with "I mean".

So the counterpoint to the idea that the Red Bull second seat is a terrible idea is that in general Red Bull's car evolves towards their lead driver over the course of a ruleset, they don't generally start out that way. 2026 will probably be the best time to join RBR.

So the reason this is allowed is the Free Practice Only Superlicence has two different qualifications. Shields has 12 points, because the FIA insists Euroformula Open is a real racing series for some reason, but sadly there's option a). There should probably not be, it's just FIA marketing for F2.

My emphasis, obviously.

Since we're having an argument about technical DSQ's, my take is: no, you should not have any degree of leniency on plank wear, get lost McLaren. On the other hand, imagine if this had been decisive in FRECA? I think there is an argument for allowing wiggle room for really minor offences.

ELMS given you were claiming 110,000 at Silverstone that total attendance figure is somewhat revealing

Congratulations to F2 for this promo picture in which almost none of the title contenders look normal and both Browning and Verschoor are different types of Hollywood villain.

In terms of time it's not as bad as IndyCar team Rahal Letterman Lanigan, who put out a press release announcing they'd signed Mick Schumacher on the 24th, dated the 25th. But many more people saw the screwup so higher impact I guess.

With the amount of publicity F1A and Mercedes seem to be giving Doriane it now seems almost inevitable that she'll be continuing as a Mercedes driver because, um, you don't do this and then send her off to race Porsches for the Iron Dames. Quite what that means is anyone's guess.

Except that you're demonstrably wrong about your example, because Albon (who is a dual national and gets to pick) is listed as Thai in F1 World championship documents).
November 26, 2025 at 12:31 AM
It's almost like you should consider consulting reference documents before contradicting people who have a documented history of doing their research. FIA International Sporting Code, Article 9:
November 26, 2025 at 12:23 AM
The FIA has the very odd rule that normally your nationality is what's on your racing licence, until you get to a world championship, then it's what's on your passport. But at least that's consistent within events, unlike _some_ people, Macau.

Not sure what I said but now the Defender Dakar D7X-R is mad at me:

Firstly, AI, I wanted the answer for a constructor (which I have now found a helpful table for). Secondly, no he didn't.

Anyone else think it's a bit weird that the while all four drivers who've won a Grand Prix in 2025 also won a Grand Prix in 2024, only Verstappen has won the same race in both years? Special props to Norris who's managed to win a race won by every driver who won in '24 _except_ himself.

Josh I feel like you should at least click through before getting overexcited.

Always a bit dangerous to slag off Saab drivers just in case the Swedish air force is listening

Macau were also quite confused by Kean Nakamura-Berta's nationality as you can see:
