Thanks for a great article!
Seeing as the vast majority of FD response is to car crashes, there should be a cost benefit analysis that sees if traffic calming measures prevent more accidents vs possible increased response time. The crash you don’t need to respond to is best.

Relieving congestion on 84, opening up a means of transit not currently available, and developing the area Danbury in a more TOD friendly manner (assuming Lamont signs HB8092). www.nymtc.org/en-us/Region...

I went to the Greenwich rally and we had what I thought was a surprisingly good turnout of about 1000. Lamont and Jim Himes were the speakers. greenwichfreepress.com/news/governm...

I just redid my bathroom last year and they took out the cast iron pipe and replaced it with PVC and it is indeed louder. The plumber told me it would be, but the new PVC also doesn’t have a huge crack in it like the cast iron.

This is probably a "me" thing, but I wasn't thinking of grocery stores, rather Walmart, Target, etc. Maybe a distinction without a difference? I also do not disagree about the class thing, as when Target (Tar-gét) opened in Manhattan it was lauded, but Walmart was run out of town.

People have been trained by their transportation landscape to like chain stores. If you have to get in your car every time you need something not offered by your local small store, you are going to go to the large chain that has just enough of what you need.
