I think it's also important to note that higher education settings tend to be even more selective than public education, and you need documentation when entering an institution. A lot of paperwork is done for kids to get accommodations in the first place. Due diligence is there.

The short answer is no, at least in K-12. In my years in the classroom, I do not remember a single person I felt was somehow gaming the system with extra time. It's a relatively low impact accommodation, and often the kids who need it are even known by classmates bc they do need that much time.

As a teacher: it's similar to the myth of the welfare queen; of course there will always be people taking advantage, but the number is consistently much lower than anyone, even many teachers, think it is.

Thanks I hate it. I'm going to be getting mad about this all day.

Same with basically any random video with shallow focus and weird artifacting. I don't have time to analyze it, just gotta use a checklist these days.

Unfortunately, Empire Strikes Back is the original sin here, I think. Han and the Falcon run from the Empire for approximately... a week? 2 weeks? How long was Luke training?

Pro: assessment fidelity is way up
Con: I seem to be getting a lot of calls from the State Ethics Board

I think there's a rhetorical infection from the right that makes some of them think you need hyperbole to make a winning political statement and "Trump has not made things better by now" seems at least decent to me.

Only saw clips on ABC but it certainly seemed like Mike Johnson was trying to give DOJ a path saying something about current bill would mean CSAM being released? It was very weird.

Hate when people surprise me by showing up at the appointed time and find me reading the Bible in original Greek and Hebrew texts.

Is it the opinion of the New York Times that this child was able to consent? Because there's only one other prominent group that believes that.

They fucking asked Ms. Rachel, Woman of the Year, if she donated money to Hamas last week based on hearsay. I'm sure this is a great journalist but you can't use this defense for the NYT anymore.

I'm at least glad it wasn't live action. I'm curious how much Critical Role had to do with making this thing as successful as it has been. Feels like they have the Midas touch right now.
